My husband and I were walking the dogs this morning (he has been away all last week) he was so surprised and happy to see this. Such a good sign already.
With his rectal prolapse it seemed like it would take him a bit longer to have a BM, almost like he didn't know he was finished. Now he goes and carry's on. So nice to see this improvement after only a few weeks.

"My cat has always had a sensitive stomach and puked almost every day. We tried changing her food but it did not help. I have an otherwise very healthy male Standard Poodle, and I, like most pet owners, want the very best for my beloved family members. So, I was very concerned when Jake had bad days vomiting after eating and not-so-pleasant poops. Full disclosure here, I am not an expert on this topic and intend to tell a story about our journey.
As a first-time dog owner, I had yet to learn the normal dining behaviour of Standard Poodles. However, my intuition told me it's not normal for dogs to throw up after eating or have their stomach gurgle and rumble most of the day.Here's what I found out in my research, all dogs can be picky sometimes. However, Poodles are less food motivated than other breeds resulting in their owners changing their food choices to coax them to eat. Poodles being fussy about what they eat is a common issue reported by many owners.
When my husband and I first brought our poodle pup home, we allowed him to graze all day on the same food he ate at the breeders. While this method was okay, it could have been better for Jake. Our dog was eating very little and seemed uninterested in his food. In fact, at Jake's first veterinarian visit, his vet told me he needed to gain weight. Diving deep into a tailspin, I was worried our new little fur baby was malnourished, and we were the worst pet parents in the world. While on a dog walk one day, my husband started a conversation with our neighbour who was walking her dog. The discussion of dog food came up, and she recommended a dog kibble brand; it was not like typical kibble in how the company baked it. While chit-chatting, our neighbour offered Jake a kibble to try, and he loved it! Of course, we thought, this is it; we must get this food for our fur baby. The brand we introduced into Jake's diet is lightly baked just enough to kill pathogens yet preserve the nutrients. Also, it is made with fresh human-grade meat, sprouts, vegetables, fruits, and a small amount of rice.
All was good for a while; Jake loved his new food and ate it consistently until he didn't. He would go a day or more without eating, and his poops became runny. "I had my Border Collie on 'high quality' kibbles for years. He always had moderate allergies and we used medication to control them as we figured it was just dry skin or a reaction to the changing seasons. His fur was dull and dry, and his breath stank beyond belief. He ate tons of grass and would also eat lots of horse manure, and I thought these were just normal habits for him. I met Lucy through a friend's recommendation, as I was starting to think about changing his diet. "Even though Lorenzo was always on a good quality dry food, with the occasional can, his coat was always lack-lustered and he was constantly hungry. His skin was dry and flaky and he always groomed himself non-stop, at one point he even had bald patches. He would also get the occasional 'sniffles' as he never had a great immune system.

"Holly was very frail, I was feeding her Royal Canine but then she stopped eating all together. "Lilli is almost 9 years old Maine -Coon mix , with an unsettled unhappy kitten-hood . We bought her through Kijiji , I fell for that face & just got to have her. She was not fixed and soon after we got her she had a false pregnancy, after that settled we had her operated. She started putting on weight, I tried different things but nothing worked ....she ended up looking like a snowball.
About a year ago we found Thrive4life pet food store in our search for best available cat-food ( I did not want to commit to cooking it ). After valuable advice from Lucy and getting some New Zealand raw food , silver solution (for Lilli's runny eyes from herpes virus she was born with and enzymes that I mix with the food), it only took about 2 weeks for Lilli to lose all the extra weight!
We are so pleased with the results . Our other cat Minttu, a Bengal mix, who has always been healthy has an even shinier coat now.
